The Position is offered by Holtec Britain as a member of the Holtec International family, a global turnkey supplier of equipment and systems for nuclear, solar, geothermal, and fossil power generation sectors of the energy industry. Holtec Britain is seeking an experienced and motivated information technology specialist who will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring that computing systems and equipment are operating effectively and efficiently at our Bristol office.

This role is a full-time position based at our Bristol Aztec West site and is fully on-site. Please note that all applicants must hold, or be able to achieve Security Clearance.

The IT Specialist must be a self-motivated, team player. Job duties include the following activities:

  • Install and maintain computer hardware and software systems built using Windows
  • Respond to technical support calls and reacting to support applications whilst proactively monitoring complex environments
  • Troubleshoot Enterprise Windows 2019 and 2022 Server
  • Set up and install new virtual machines, networks and software following work instructions to change components
  • Install and configure operating systems, anti-virus software, other applications and install updates and patches to software applications
  • Diagnose and fix office network problems, hardware, software faults and manage backups of servers in case of data loss
  • Maintain network connectivity and accurately record changes
  • Monitor daily operations, including server hardware, software, and operating systems
  • Coordinating technology installations, upgrades, and maintenance
  • Selecting new and replacement hardware and software, when necessary
  • Testing, troubleshooting, and modifying information systems so that they operate effectively
  • Generating performance reports for operating systems
  • Ensuring proper compliance with regulations are followed as well as Company policies and procedures with regard to IT Compliance standards

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of IT operations experience
  • Recognized qualification in information technology, computer science, software engineering such as ITIL V4 Foundation, Microsoft Certified Server Associate, CCNA or relevant technical experience
  • Experience working in complex environments
  • Proven experience in managing IT infrastructure and services
  • Experience with computer networks, network administration, and network installation
  • Proficient in computer hardware, cabling installation and support, wireless technology applications and interface, and IT security
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows software, including server, office, and exchange
