Play a Key Role in Business Integrity – Internal Assurance Officer
The Opportunity
We are looking for a meticulous and driven Internal Assurance Officer to support the delivery of Laing O'Rourke's internal assurance agenda. Working closely with the Internal Assurance Manager, you will help assess and enhance how the organisation manages risk, compliance, and internal controls.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced assurance or audit professional to gain exposure to complex projects and contribute to the continued resilience and integrity of our business. You will play a vital part in reviewing practices, identifying areas for improvement, and ensuring our operations meet the highest standards of compliance and performance.

What will the role look like?
You Will Lead On
- Conducting internal audits across functions and projects to evaluate the effectiveness of controls, processes, and compliance.
- Preparing and presenting audit findings, including agreed actions to address risks or inefficiencies.
- Supporting the development and implementation of assurance frameworks and risk management strategies.
- Assisting in investigations of compliance breaches and staying alert to emerging risks and regulatory changes.
- Experience in internal assurance, audit, or risk management, preferably within a regulated or complex business environment.
- Strong analytical skills, with attention to detail and the ability to work independently on audit assignments.
- Knowledge of risk assessment tools, audit methodologies, and compliance standards.
- A degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management or related field; construction sector experience is a plus but not essential.
