Information Governance and Compliance Officer

Salary: £36,996 - £40,950

Play your part within one of the largest collaborative policing units in the country as we tackle serious and organised crime

EMSOU is seeking to recruit two full time Information Governance and Compliance Officer’s , located close to junction 27, to liaise with senior staff, officers, legal services and commercial suppliers, providing proactive Information Governance support, as well as offering specialist technical advice whilst ensuring that relevant strategies and policies are fit for purposes, effective, and implemented across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting with the implementation, maintenance and continual improvement of our organisational Information Governance framework.
• Supporting the Information Manager and Operational Security Officer in investigating and responding to information incidents.
• Report on the findings audits and inspections in a clear and concise manner and make effective recommendations.

The must haves

• To be educated to degree level in a numerate or literate discipline or demonstrate experience of working at a similar level.
• Hold relevant professional qualifications in information management, governance and / or data sharing such as BCS Practitioners Certificate in Data Protection, or demonstrate experience of working to a similar standard.
• Demonstrate a working experience of the Data Protection Act, Information Security and Risk Management principles.
