As an HR Assistant, your main duties will include

- Maintains accurate records Meticulous record-keeping of employee data, from personal details to performance reviews, ensures accuracy and easy access.
- Manages day-to-day operations You keep the department running smoothly by coordinating meetings, handling correspondence, and processing paperwork
- Ensures smooth onboarding You play a key role in making new employees feel welcome and prepared by coordinating orientation and completing initial paperwork.
- Handles sensitive information Your discretion and integrity in managing confidential employee information build trust throughout the organization.
- Supports training and development You may help coordinate employee training sessions
- Administrative skills Experience with data entry, filing, scheduling, and general office tasks is a strong asset.
- Organisational skills The ability to manage a varied workload, prioritize tasks, and pay close attention to detail is vital for maintaining accurate records and handling administrative duties.
- Basic computer skills Proficiency with office software like Microsoft Word and Excel is necessary for drafting correspondence, maintaining databases, and creating documents.
- No specific experience required For many volunteer HR roles, particularly in smaller non-profits, no formal HR experience is needed. The right soft skills and motivation are often more important.
