A vacancy has arisen to recruit a Housing Repairs Manager in the Housing Asset and Investment team. This postholder will lead, develop & improve the housing “client” repairs and maintenance service, whilst overseeing the responsive repairs, planned & cyclical maintenance programmes including voids and Council house Adaptations, for a housing portfolio of 12,500 Council homes.
You should be educated to HND level or equivalent in a building, construction or management discipline, OR, have extensive experience working in similar, related role. You have experience of delivering a high quality, customer focused repairs & maintenance service, including contract management & monitoring of financial and operational performance of in house and external contractors. You should have experience of budget monitoring whilst ensuring best value for money. You should demonstrate effective knowledge of repairs and maintenance and adherence to all statutory and regulatory landlord obligations. In addition, you should have an adequate understanding of health and safety legislation and experience of dealing with verbal and written complex complaints enquiries from a wide variety of stakeholders.
You must have effective IT skills and demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills. You should also have a proven track record of managing diverse teams, including problem solving and experience of implementing and managing change. Experience of producing reports; skilled in data analysis and working with customers to develop customer focussed service improvements.
You should be committed, flexible & demonstrate effective leadership skills and be able to lead and motivate others, in a busy team environment. The ability to work under pressure in a changing environment with competing demands is also essential.
You will be able to exhibit continuous personal development; be self-motivated, results driven and be able to work on their own initiative ensuring tight deadlines are met.
A full current driving licence is desirable.
You must also be able to attend meetings or events out of hours, as required.
