The role

Reporting to the UK Director of Services, the Head of Technical Delivery will join our Cloud Services business where you will share our passion for solving business challenges faced by enterprises today through cloud and digital technologies. Our Professional Services Department is one of the largest departments in Ekco UK and is the front door for our customers into our Service offerings. The role of the Head of Technical Delivery is to ensure that we have a high performing, engaged and passionate team full of purpose, and to lead, manage, and develop our team of technical specialists while ensuring the successful delivery of technical solutions and services to our clients.


Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Delivery

  • Oversee the end-to-end delivery of professional services, ensuring high-quality, timely, and cost-effective execution.
  • Provide technical oversight and guidance across all professional services specifically growth areas such as Microsoft Modern Workspace, Azure, Networking, and other core technologies.
  • Act as a senior escalation point for complex technical challenges.
  • Collaborate with other technical and operational leaders to align services with business objectives.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement within the technical delivery function.

Team Management & Development

  • Lead and manage a team of technical specialists, providing mentorship, performance management, and career development.
  • Foster a high-performance culture, encouraging knowledge sharing and collaboration.
  • Conduct regular one-to-one meetings, performance reviews, and professional development planning.
  • Ensure resource allocation and utilisation are optimised to meet demand.

Customer Engagement & Stakeholder Management

  • Engage directly with clients to understand business needs, technical requirements, and project expectations.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships to ensure satisfaction and identify opportunities for service improvement.
  • Work closely with the sales and pre-sales teams to support solution design and proposal development.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, providing strategic technical insights.

Process Improvement & Best Practices

  • Define and implement best practices, standards, and methodologies for technical service delivery.
  • Monitor project performance, ensuring alignment with SLAs, KPIs, and business objectives.
  • Drive continuous service improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and governance frameworks.


Key Requirements

You will have:

  • Strong hands-on experience in Microsoft Modern Workspace, Azure, Networking, and other relevant IT technologies.
  • Deep understanding of cloud computing, cybersecurity, and IT infrastructure best practices.
  • Proven ability to provide technical direction and mentorship to engineers and consultants
  • Significant experience in a technical leadership role
  • Significant working background in either a professional services or managed services provider environment or similar
  • Previous experience of building and leading highly technical teams
  • Experience of leading process driven functions with a keen eye on automation and optimisation
  • Excellent experience leading delivery teams and post sales architecture and improvement teams
  • Excellent communication and engagement skills with an ability to lead and inspire a team while also working with board- level stakeholders
  • Understanding of Service Management best practices frameworks such as ITIL
