A Snapshot of Your Day

We are looking for a Head of Strategic Procurement to join our fantastic company based here in Lincoln. You will be responsible for heading up the strategic day-to-day management of all procurement and supply chain processes. This is a busy and varied role where you will have several direct reports and will work closely with other department managers and stake holders to ensure processes run smoothly. Within your role you will be required to build relationships at all levels, and you must have a warm and approachable nature with an analytical mind!

How You’ll Make An Impact

Strategy Development and Implementation:

  • Support Commodity Managers and Local Procurement Buyers in creating and executing local/global procurement strategies.
  • Develop forward-looking commodity ecosystem strategies aligned with business needs.


Leadership and Team Management:

  • Provide vision, strategy, and functional leadership to a global cross-functional team.
  • Manage, develop, and coach team members for successful commodity and contract management, supplier relationships, and strategy execution.


Commodity and Supplier Management:

  • Define commodity structure and departmental setup with relevant stakeholders.
  • Own relationships with strategic suppliers to meet Small Gas Turbines demands and requirements.


Contract Negotiation and Risk Management:

  • Prepare, negotiate, and award global frame contracts and price lists for strategic suppliers.
  • Identify procurement risks and opportunities to mitigate potential damage and exploit opportunities.


Market Analysis and Continuous Improvement:

  • Conduct supply/supplier market analysis and supplier scouting.
  • Ensure continuous improvement of Managed Spend and provide market information feedback to stakeholders.Support Commodity Managers and Local Procurement Buyers in creating and executing local/global procurement strategies.

Requirements for Success:

  • Advanced knowledge of relevant concepts, practices, and procedures, with an understanding of functional management approaches and cross-functional teamwork.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with expertise in presentation development and delivery; comfortable working with higher management levels.
  • Demonstrated procurement skills in Supplier Management, Contract Negotiations, Supply Chain Processes, Sourcing, and Product Life-cycle Management.
  • At least 8 years of strong experience in Supplier Management, preferably in a factory/production environment.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Purchasing, Business Administration, or Supply Chain.
