Role Purpose

Jungle Creations is seeking a Head of Programming to lead the development of a slate of formats across our core media brands and for clients. This individual will own the creative, casting and approve the final edits. The Head of Programming will manage a team of producers and sit within the wider video team that includes production.

The Head of Programming will have a proven background in developing and overseeing the delivery of social-first IP. This individual will have a creative and analytic eye and use insights to create and develop ideas. They should have experience budgeting and working with clients.

We’re looking for someone with a deep understanding of social video, podcasts and production.

Success in this role requires thriving in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple projects and stakeholders at once and constantly experimenting and adapting with formats to optimise them.

Job Requirements

Background & Experience

• Proven experience in social video and programming - experience in podcasts would be a bonus
• A passion for entertainment, video and social media and being able to spot trends that spark creative ideas
• Have a strong understanding of production from pre to post production
• Well connected in the media and video industry
• Understanding and some experience of managing clients
• Experience in managing and leading a team in a fast-paced environment
  
  

Skills & Competencies

• Ability to research, script and cast for social-first programming
• Proficient in the production process
• Profound knowledge of social-first content and the social media platforms, as well as the broader media landscape at large
• Strong skills in creating creative ideas that translate into engaging and repeatable formats
• Ability to utilise data and insights to inform programming

• Relevant experience in podcast development and production would be a bonus
  
  

Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Pitch, develop and oversee all original programming for the media brands with a focus on Four Nine, VT and Twisted
• Lead the production only offering for Jungle, developing potential new clients and delivering work at a high standard
• Oversee creative, casting sign off, managing talent and their agents, scripts, edit reviews and sign off for all productions
• Spot opportunities to launch IP joint venture with talent and have good relationships with talent agencies in the industry
• Own the budget for original IP and ensure this is used in the priority business areas and adhered to
• Review data and performance to inform the development and optimisation of all IP
• Work closely with sales and the Creative Director on getting sponsorship for original IP - developing easily sponsorable beats
• Support the Head of Production and Head of Social creative on the delivery of these projects
• Work closely with the Director of Social to ensure all programming is optimised to perform the best it can on social and that there is a solid distribution plan for each episode
• Report back to the MD of Media with weekly reports
