Head of Operational Support
Location: Remote - Infrequent Nationwide Travel Required

About the Role
Are you an experienced operational manager, or looking to step into a senior leadership role? This is a fantastic opportunity to join NoteMachine as a Head of Operational Support. We are looking for a passionate leader of people, capable of driving business transformation through collaboration and innovation. Lean Six Sigma qualifications or experience would be an advantage.

Reporting directly to the Operations Director, you'll lead a team of operational managers with a national reach of over 300 colleagues. You'll ensure alignment, focus, and harmony across day-to-day operations while championing development, mentoring, and coaching within your teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Setting and monitoring new Dept` KPIs that challenge and improve business performances
  • Identify and prioritise continuous improvement opportunities and align them with the strategic goals and objectives of the organisation. Document lessons learnt & best practices, transfer knowledge and sustainability
  • Define the project charter, scope, and milestones, and establish the project governance and communication plan.
  • Manage and lead the various Operational support teams, stakeholders, and resources to ensure the key expansion plans are delivered on time, within budget that deliver expected quality and benefits to the business.
  • Work with your team and the wider operational teams to conduct data collection and analysis and apply statistical and problem-solving methods to identify root causes, validate hypotheses, and test solutions.
  • Implement and monitor the improvement actions and evaluate the impact and effectiveness of the changes that deliver productivity and financial results.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends and developments in the lean six sigma field and seek opportunities for learning and innovation.
  • What We're Looking For

    • This role requires the successful candidate to obtain a full 10 year screening check.
    • Certified lean six sigma (black belt) from a recognised institution
    • Experience in leading and delivering lean six sigma projects, preferably in a business which has multiple sites delivering reflective process.
    • Proven track record of achieving significant and measurable improvement results, setting new KPIs that are compliant with the business objectives.
    • It's not just the what but how you have achieved success - building up influential and positive relationships with all stakeholders whilst delivering customer satisfaction.
    • A knowledge and application of lean six sigma tools and techniques, to include:
      • hypothesis testing
      • design of control projects
      • control charts as process mapping
      • value stream analysis
      • waste and variation reduction
      • root cause analysis

    • You should be a considerate and influential leader demonstrating Leadership and adaptive management techniques, with the ability to motivate, influence, and collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
    • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex and technical information in a clear and concise manner. With a distinct ability to actively listen to feedback, questions and ideas.
    • High attention to detail, accuracy, and quality, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Creative and analytical thinker, with the ability to identify and solve problems, and generate innovative and sustainable solutions.
    • Passionate and committed to continuous improvement, learning, and excellence. Wanting to coach and mentor team members for promotion, development and career fulfilment.
