What you’ll be doing:

This leadership role is responsible for the design and operation of SJP’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework, including the risk appetite, taxonomy, and policy suite. The Head of Enterprise Risk plays a key role in setting risk strategy, monitoring group wide risk exposures, and supporting both Group and entity CROs. The position provides oversight of strategic, emerging, and systemic risks, ensuring the risk profile of the business is well understood and effectively communicated at Board and executive level.

  • Own and operate the ERMF, including the development of group level and legal entity Risk Appetite Statements.
  • Lead the production of enterprise risk reporting for Group committees and the PLC Board.
  • Oversee the Group risk profile, including systemic and cross-cutting risks.
  • Provide input into external risk disclosures and emerging risk assessments.
  • Maintain oversight of the Group policy framework and ensure compliance through attestation processes.
  • Engage with senior leaders to shape risk management strategy and awareness across the business.

Who we’re looking for:

You will be a strategic and experienced enterprise risk leader with strong business acumen and a forward looking approach to risk. A collaborative mindset and analytical strength will be key, alongside the ability to influence at senior levels and drive continuous improvement in risk maturity across a complex organisation.

Skills/Experience:

Essential

  • Proven experience in enterprise risk or strategic risk oversight in financial services.
  • Expertise in risk frameworks, risk appetite, governance and policy management.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills to senior executive levels, and including Board reporting.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to design and drive enterprise wide risk initiatives.
  • Track record of leading or contributing to cross-functional risk teams.

Desirable:

  • Professional risk qualification (e.g. IRM, FRM).
  • Knowledge of wealth management businesses.
  • Experience contributing to regulatory risk disclosures or public risk statements.
  • Understanding of risk adjusted performance frameworks or risk based incentive design.
