About the Role:
We’re looking for a detail-driven finance professional to join our team and play a key role in supporting our Hotel, Care and KFC businesses.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring full taxation compliance, working closely with external auditors and tax advisors to meet internal and statutory reporting deadlines.
Reporting to the Financial Reporting Manager, you’ll assist with the preparation and maintenance of key financial reconciliations—including fixed assets, borrowings, and intercompany accounts—ensuring all entries are accurate and reconciled monthly.

Key responsibilities:
- Maintain and oversee the Group P&Ls and intercompany ledgers (Hotels, Restaurant and Care homes), ensuring accurate recording of all entries and full reconciliation of balances on a monthly basis.
- Prepare and review VAT returns by gathering information from management accounting team, coaching offshore teams, and ensuring timely and accurate compliance.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, ensuring accuracy, compliance with accounting standards (e.g., GAAP/IFRS), and timely reporting.
- Assist the Financial Reporting Manager in responding to regulatory queries with accurate and timely information.
- Track budget versus project spend for development projects and provide weekly reports to key stakeholders.
- Prepare and submit monthly Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) returns in compliance with regulations.
- Manage Companies House administrative reporting, including confirmation statements and filing deadlines, to ensure all statutory deadlines are met.
- Responsible for maintaining the fixed asset registers across multiple sites and running the depreciation journal on a monthly basis.
- Play an integral role in the statutory audit process (including liaising with external auditors) and taxation compliance (including VAT).
- Build strong and trusting relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
About you:
- Qualified accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent.
- Proven experience in financial accounting, reconciliations, and preparing management accounts ideally gained in a multi-entity / Group environment.
- Familiarity with accounting software and strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Keen eye for detail with an ability to work to strict deadlines.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build meaningful relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- A team player with the ability to contribute to wider Splendid group goals.
- Ability to bring a commercial outlook to the role such that deliverables add value and insight to the business.
- Self starter with a strong desire for personal development.
- Knowledge of industry-specific regulations or reporting frameworks (e.g., Companies House, sector-specific taxes) would be advantageous.
