A vacancy has arisen for a Graduate Engineer, to join our team within our team.

The Graduate Engineer role exists to support project delivery across all our activities.

S&B Utilities Limited are involved in all major civils and engineering sectors. Working in exciting areas such as Ministry of Defence and regulated water industry.

Work carried out by us includes new sewage pumping stations; main laying; rising mains; clean water repairs; sewage repairs; valve installations; hydrant installations; meter installations; manhole chambers and covers.

Civil engineering is also a core part of S&B Utilities Ltd. We operate across numerous sectors including water, construction, environmental, private and industrial as well as providing specialist support to the other divisions within the business.

The role briefly encompasses the following duties: -

Develop Design Deliverables

  • Cable Modelling using Amtech Software
  • Single Line Diagrams, Block Cable Diagrams, Cable schedules, Instrument schedules
  • Pump Drive Schedules
  • Valve Schedules
  • Assist with P&ID development.
  • Pump Calculations
  • Pipework sizing using modelling software.
  • Produce BOM for project requirements

Assist in the Control element of the project to produce:

  • Control Philosophy
  • I/O Schedules
  • Control Panel Specifications
  • Attend HAZOP & ALM
  • Assist with Commissioning of the Works
  • Commissioning Plans
  • Pre & Function Commissioning Plans
  • Attend Factory & Site Acceptance Testing FAT / SFAT
  • Pre & Function Testing
  • Assist with the Process Commissioning of the Works
  • Prepare Operational & Maintenance Manual Production
  • Prepare Ad-Hoc reports as required
  • Responsible for Maintaining Quality Documents

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills/experience/ attributes:-

  • Full UK Driving License
  • Fully converse with Microsoft Office Package
  • Qualified to bachelor’s degree level minimum.
  • AutoCAD experience essential
  • Team Player
  • Confident & friendly
  • Practical, logical, adaptable with the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Work well on their own with minimum supervision
  • Flexible
  • Positive attitude to safety
  • Good time management skills
  • Tolerant of diverse working conditions and situations
