Job Overview
The post holder will be responsible for the provision of timely, accurate and reliable data to FLS DB (fracture liaison database). This will involve collating and inputting data, of patients attending the Trust with low trauma fractures. In addition, he/she may be required to participate in clinical audit projects within The North Wales Osteoporosis/Bone Densitometry Unit.
An accurate, confidential and supportive administration service for patients, clinical teams, carers and internal and external agencies (e.g. Local Authority, Third Sector, CAIS) in order to: Provide a safe and efficient patient pathway and provide information and appropriate support to families and carers.
Main duties of the job
To co-ordinate the provision of accurate, reliable and timely data to the Fracture Liaison Service database (FLS-DB) by completion of data submissions via the web based system, according to the FLS-DB inclusion criteria.
Regular liaison with the bone unit staff who can provide a list of patients attending the Health Board with low trauma fractures ≥50 years of age.
To liaise with the relevant stakeholders regarding the maintenance and further development of systems for collecting data in line with the national and organisational requirements.
To link with General practitioners and patients to collate information.
The retrieve information (where applicable) from Patient information system (PiMS, WPAS, Symphony), Welsh Clinical Portal (WCP) and EPRO.
The retrieval and tracking of case-notes for patients included in the FLS-DB.
To support and promote bone unit audit liaising with both clinical and audit/information staff to ensure the availability of good quality data.
To assist clinical and other staff in the interpretation of data reports received from FLS-DB, and to identify areas for future audit and review.
To make presentations at appropriate meetings when required.
Attendance at FLS events.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

- NVQ Business administration L4 or equivalent experience
- City & Guilds (AMSPAR) Diploma in Medical administration or equivalent experience
- RSA /OCR level 3 or equivalent experience
- Management qualification or working towards
- NVQ 3 Customer Service
- ILM Level 2 (or working towards) relevant equivalent qualification
- NHS Statutory and Mandatory Training
- ECDL or equivalent experience

- Experience of coordinating administration activities.
- Experience of organising workload and people
- Previous NHS Experience
