- between £45,000 and £50,000 per annum
- 12 month fixed term (maternity cover)

Working closely with internal teams and externalstakeholders, you will develop, implement, and maintain LHUK’s Fire Safety andDSEAR strategy, foster a positive fire safety culture across the estate, andestablish a best-in-class Fire Safety and DSEAR Management System.
KeyResponsibilities
- Be the trusted expert – Provide professional fire safety advice to managers, staff, consultants, and project teams across the estate.
- Drive compliance – Lead and review Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs), ensuring action plans are accurate, up to date, and aligned with regulations.
- Support safe design – Prepare FRAs for refurbishment and new build projects, and manage DSEAR assessments with practical, effective control measures.
- Lead investigations – Analyse fire incidents to identify root causes and recommend proactive risk-reduction strategies.
- Act as the key contact – Manage petroleum licensing, liaise with insurers, and support business continuity through expert fire safety input .
- Build strong partnerships – Maintain collaborative relationships with Fire & Rescue Services and the on-site LHUK Fire Service.
- Industry-recognised expertise with qualifications such as CFPA, NEBOSH Fire Certificate, or Level 4 Diploma, and membership at GIFireE (or equivalent) level.
- Proven leadership experience delivering high-impact Fire Risk Assessments and DSEAR compliance, ideally with over 10 years in fire safety and hazardous risk environments.
- In-depth knowledge and strategic insight into UK fire safety legislation, DSEAR/ATEX regulations, and hazardous area classification standards.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills , with the ability to influence, guide, and collaborate effectively across all organisational levels.
- Commitment to excellence through professional memberships (e.g., NAHFO, IFE, IFSM, IOSH) and a passion for building a strong safety culture.
