Astroscale UK is looking for a keen and enthusiastic apprentice to join their friendly and welcoming finance team.
Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager you will provide important finance administrative support across all aspects of the department. You will need to be keen to learn, have excellent attention to detail and a can-do attitude to really thrive in this role.
We will support you to gain a Level 2 Accounts / Finance Assistant qualification, whilst you develop your knowledge and skills. You’ll be involved in bookkeeping activities, working with accounts payable, purchase ledgers, supporting the various payment runs and audits, dealing with invoicing and purchase orders, and handling supplier and staff queries.
20% of your working time will be for study towards a Level 2 diploma in accounting

Responsibilities
Initial Finance Responsibilities
- Assisting with all transactional processes (sales, purchasing, fixed assets, bank, credit card and expenses). Ensuring the accuracy of posting of transactions to general ledger code, project code and department.
- Assisting with the preparation of payment runs for suppliers and submitting for review.
- Assisting with month-end journal processing.
- Assisting with month-end balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assisting with Ad-hoc P&L, balance sheet and cash analysis.
- Assisting with timesheet reporting and analysis.
- Always ensuring adherence to business process and policy.
- Dealing with ad-hoc queries from the business and parent company Finance team as required.
- Maintenance of business software (financial and other).
- Take on additional work which will assist in professional development.
- Skill Level 2 or GCSE grade 4 or above in Maths and English
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Can-do attitude with the ability to pick tasks up quickly.
- Flexible approach and collaborative worker.
- Desire to learn and develop knowledge and skills.
- Confident verbal and written communicator.
- Microsoft Excel skills
- Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint)
