Overivew of Role
Field Service/Support Engineer: Provides highly visible customer support through the performance of on-site installation, as well as overseeing any necessary diagnoses, troubleshooting, service, and repair of complex equipment and systems. Checks out and approves operational quality of system equipment. Instructs customers in the operation and maintenance of the system. Serves as company liaison with customer on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects. Interprets customers’ needs and clarifies if the responsibility for problem resolution falls to sales personnel, customer support reps, or engineers. This job may include any aspect of field support, and is not limited to system hardware and software, PCs, and networking/wireless networking.
This role is to provide Cargo Vehicle Inspection (CVI) equipment field service engineering support to delivered cargo systems in the Europe, former CIS, Central & SW Asia, Middle East & Africa regions.

This role is to provide Cargo Vehicle Inspection (CVI) equipment field service engineering support to delivered cargo systems in the Europe, former CIS, Central & SW Asia, Middle East & Africa regions.
Responsibilities
- Carrying out the repair, maintenance and overhaul as necessary elements of cargo systems (CVI)
- Performing general maintenance, fitting, troubleshooting and fault finding on CVI systems & sub systems.
- Providing oral and written response to requests for 3rd line technical request from site of operations to either site engineers, Rapiscan distributors engineers or customer reps
- Providing defect liability or post acceptance support for CVI mobile or airport cargo equipment.
- Installing static, gantry or portal CVI systems as part of an installation team
- Willingness to undertake National and International travel to 90% of the engineer’s time, travelling required to Europe, former CIS, Central & SW Asia, Middle East and Africa with occasional opportunities for travel hazardous environments (which carries the appropriate remuneration).
- Completing technical documentation including service reports, engineering change requests & inputting service data to a simple functional database.
- BTEC, C&G or HNC or similar qualification in an engineering discipline
- Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical and electro/ mechanical systems
- Knowledge of IT Networking solutions, CCNP or Similar
- Knowledge of integrated it systems including PLC, HV systems and/or radar
- As a Field Service Engineer, you will be expected to travel on a Global basis, at times at relatively short notice and to challenging destinations. Experience in a similar environment would be advantageous.
