We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Facilities Engineer to join our team. The Facilities Engineer will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and improvement of all facilities and Plant equipment within our hearing aid battery manufacturing plant. This role ensures that the factory operates efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all regulatory standards.


Responsibilities


Maintenance and Repair

  • Perform regular maintenance on plant equipment and systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical.
  • Diagnose and repair equipment failures to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain a preventative maintenance schedule to ensure all equipment functions optimally.
  • Inspecting buildings and facilities to identify any issues related to structural, electrical, plumbing, or other systems


Facility Management

  • Oversee the daily operations of the facility, ensuring a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.
  • Manage building systems, including security, fire alarms, and emergency preparedness.
  • Coordinate with external contractors and service providers for specialized repairs and maintenance.
  • Coordinating with external contractors and internal teams for repair and maintenance works


Compliance and Safety

  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits.
  • Develop and implement safety protocols and emergency response plans.


Project Management

  • Plan and oversee facility improvement projects, including upgrades and expansions.
  • Prepare project budgets, timelines, and progress reports.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and contractors to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

Energy Management

  • Monitor and manage the facility’s energy consumption.
  • Implement energy-saving initiatives to reduce operational costs and environmental impact.


Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
  • Prepare reports on facility operations, maintenance schedules, and project progress.


Any other duties commensurate with the position as and when required.


What we are looking for


An apprentice, time served or graduate Engineer to at least HNC level in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in facilities engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Proficient in maintenance and repair of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.

Knowledge of regulatory compliance standards (e.g. OSHA, HSE).

Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is a plus.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize.

Available to work flexible hours including being part of a call out team on evenings and weekends as required.
