Exports Data Support Officer - 29409
Environment Agency
Date: 1 week ago
City: Derby
Contract type: Full time
Job Description
We are looking for an Exports Data Support Officer to join the Environment Agency's National Enforcement Service – Illegal Waste Exports Team.
The Environment Agency are fully committed to having an inclusive workforce to reflect the communities we serve. We don’t just talk about diversity; we seek it, embrace it and live it, for the benefit of our staff, our communities and our environment. Everyone starting in a new role will be welcomed into the team and given all the training and support needed. As part of your comprehensive induction, you will be provided with all the equipment required for your role.
Environmental crime affects people and places. It harms legitimate businesses and blights our communities. We want to eliminate it. You could play a part by supporting our Illegal Waste Exports team with information and data management to help us target criminals damaging our environment.
You will work alongside our Intelligence Research Officers, Technical Advisors, Data Officer, and Crime Analyst to provide a gateway support service, making sure that incoming intelligence from a variety of sources is captured on our systems and disseminated to our operational staff and enforcement partners, so that we can intervene to prevent, disrupt and investigate criminal activity. The intelligence you capture could be the piece in the jigsaw that allows us to connect an offender to a crime.
If you're interested in a career within illegal waste exports or enforcement, this could be your chance to have exposure to this area of business, in an entry level role. There will be ample opportunity to learn from your colleagues and develop yourself with a view to considering a longer-term career with us, fighting environmental crime.
The team
You will be part of the National Enforcement Service’s Intelligence & Partnerships department. We are responsible for collecting and developing criminal intelligence to allow our enforcement colleagues to tackle environmental crime on the frontline. We cover the whole of England and provide a support service to internal colleagues in a variety of enforcement roles as well as working closely with external partners such as the Police, HMRC, other UK Environment Agencies and Local Authorities.
Experience/skills Required
You’ll be handling and inputting intelligence into our systems and managing projects that support our Illegal Waste Exports teams.
