Job Details
We are seeking an organised and detail-focused Exams Officer to join our FE college and oversee the planning, administration and delivery of examinations and assessments. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that all internal and external exams are conducted in accordance with awarding body regulations and JCQ guidance, working closely with curriculum teams, senior leaders and external agencies.

The successful candidate will have experience of exams administration within an education setting, strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines during peak periods. You will be confident working with data and systems, able to communicate clearly with staff and students, and committed to maintaining accuracy and compliance. Duties & Responsibilities

  • To ensure that information regarding examination entries, registrations, and amendments is collected from subject leaders, processed and transmitted to the awarding bodies by the stated deadlines.
  • To be responsible for the implementation of the awarding body instructions for the Conduct of Examinations.
  • To ensure that seating plans, record sheets and other associated documentation are produced well in advance.
  • To ensure the provision of the necessary resources for each examination season.
  • To recruit, employ and appropriately train Invigilators to ensure sufficient cover is available for each examination.
  • To work with the Additional Learning Support Manager to ensure that the appropriate provision is made for examination candidates with special requirements and the necessary applications/notifications sent to the Awarding Bodies.
  • To manage the examination and invigilation budgets and monitor the collection of fees for re-sit entries and adult students in liaison with the Finance Officer.
  • To ensure students and staff have appropriate access to post-results services and an accurate database of results is maintained


Job Requirements:

Essential:
  • Knowledge of education regulatory frameworks (e.g., Ofsted, awarding bodies).
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency with ICT systems.
