As an Ethics Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting McKinsey’s Ethics and Compliance (E&C) team by designing, executing, and tracking the firm’s processes for addressing allegations of misconduct and infractions. Through your work, you will help ensure disciplinary actions across the firm are unbiased and consistent, while also identifying and implementing remedial actions to strengthen our ethical standards.
You will leverage firm resources and external vendors to ensure our program stays evergreen. Working closely with stakeholders across various functions, you will develop and refine procedures that ensure violations of the Firm’s Code of Conduct, policies, or the law are enforced consistently and fairly across the Firm. Additionally, this role involves designing procedures to perform root cause analyses following incidents of misconduct and creating remediation plans to address underlying issues.
You will also develop and leverage data analytics and reporting capabilities to generate actionable insights, identify trends, and provide recommendations that enhance the effectiveness of the ethics program. By creating visually compelling presentations, you will communicate key insights and progress to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.
In addition to executing day-to-day responsibilities, you will proactively identify opportunities to enhance the firm’s ethics and compliance framework, driving strategic initiatives to strengthen the program’s effectiveness and alignment with emerging trends and best practices. There will also be opportunities to lead or contribute to cross-functional initiatives, such as codifying knowledge, developing playbooks, driving people-focused projects, or supporting the development of policies and standards.
Finally, you will play a critical role in sustaining and evolving our E&C program and upholding our commitment to integrity and lawful practices.

Finally, you will play a critical role in sustaining and evolving our E&C program and upholding our commitment to integrity and lawful practices.
Your Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree(s) and/ or applicable professional certifications preferred (e.g., Juris Doctor or CPA)
- 5+ years of combined professional experience in ethics, compliance, and/or risk in a large corporate or professional services environment
- 3+ years of experience working with or leading teams to analyze data and leverage analytics to generate insights that inform and drive decision-making
- 2+ years of experience developing, driving and implementing holistic ethics programs for example, issue management, root cause analysis, system implementation
- Strong Excel, PowerBI, Tableau (or other data visualization technology), analytical and data management skills
- Experience in program building or transformation initiatives
- Excellent organization capabilities, including the ability to initiate tasks independently in a complex and largely autonomous work environment
- Identify gaps, and develop sound recommendations that are clearly articulated to stakeholders
- Experience working in global, multi-disciplinary teams
- Exhibit highest levels of discretion and judgment in safeguarding confidential materials
- Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills, managing a variety of stakeholders across a broad range of seniority
