Role Overview

Responsible for collecting, transporting, and delivering parts, equipment, and components to engineering teams at tenant homes or along their travel routes ensuring that our engineers have the materials they need on time to complete their jobs efficiently and maintain service quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect parts, components, and equipment from warehouse, depots or suppliers
  • Safely load and unload items, ensuring correct handling to avoid damage
  • Deliver parts to engineers at tenant homes, sites, or distribution hubs according to schedule
  • Plan and follow efficient routes; adjust to traffic, delays, or last‐minute changes
  • Ensure all deliveries are documented (delivery notes, signatures, proof of delivery)
  • Check that the correct parts are delivered (cross-check packing lists, order numbers)
  • Maintain clear communication with engineers, and the operations team regarding any delivery issues, delays, or shortages
  • Keep the vehicle clean, fuelled, and in good condition; report any faults or maintenance needs
  • Comply with all road safety, driving regulations, and company policies
  • Handle customer interactions professionally when entering tenant premises (courteous, respectful, minimal disruption)
  • Adhere to Health & Safety requirements and report incidents or near misses
  • Any other duties deemed necessary with the role

Skills & Experience

  • Valid UK driving licence (essential)
  • Proven experience in a driving or courier role (desirable)
  • Good knowledge of local roads, navigation systems (GPS/Satnav) and route panning
  • Familiar with waste collections/disposal and environmental compliance
  • An understanding of the social housing industry and ideally familiarity with gas plumbing parts/equipment and materials
  • Good organisational and time-management skills; ability to follow scheduled routes and adjust when needed
