Clever is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Director of International Sales to lead the global expansion of our business. This leadership role will be responsible for developing and executing Clever's international sales strategy, driving revenue growth in key global markets, and ensuring the successful adoption of Clever's platform across diverse regions. The Director of International Sales will build and manage high-performing teams, forge strategic partnerships, and tailor go-to-market approaches to meet the unique needs of each market. This position requires a seasoned sales leader with extensive experience in international markets and a deep understanding of the education technology landscape.

Location: UK or Ireland based (remote)

Contract: Full-time, permanent

Salary: Competitive, commensurate with experience

A DAY IN THE LIFE:

  • Develop and implement Clever's global sales strategy, prioritizing growth in key international markets and aligning with overall business objectives.
  • Lead and mentor a globally distributed team to drive adoption of Clever's platform worldwide.
  • Build and manage strategic partnerships with educational institutions, government bodies, and key stakeholders to accelerate market entry and growth.
  • Create tailored go-to-market strategies for each region, addressing local market needs and aligning product offerings with local educational standards and requirements.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Product, Success and Services teams on go-to-market and service delivery.
  • Drive revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities, managing the sales pipeline, and developing long-term client relationships.
  • Oversee the operational aspects of new market entry, including compliance, local partnerships, and regional sales tactics.
  • Represent Clever in international markets, serving as the primary spokesperson at industry events, conferences, and media engagements.
  • Monitor international market trends, competitive landscapes, and regulatory changes to inform and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure that international sales efforts are aligned with Clever's overall strategic goals, fostering integration between global and domestic operations.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

  • 10+ years of experience in a senior sales leadership role, with a proven track record of driving revenue growth and scaling international businesses.
  • Deep expertise in education technology, SaaS, or a related industry, with a strong understanding of global education systems and market dynamics.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional, global teams and navigate the complexities of different cultural and regulatory environments.
  • Strong strategic thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills, focusing on delivering results in international markets.
  • Experience in sales pipelines and revenue growth strategies on a global scale.
  • Proven success in building partnerships and managing relationships with senior-level stakeholders across diverse regions.
  • Familiarity with local compliance, legal requirements, and market-specific challenges in key global regions.
  • Willingness to travel internationally up to 50% of the time.
