This is an excellent opportunity to join the Nutrition and Dietetics Service in Fife. The Band 5 posts are rotational posts which offer you a range of opportunities to develop your knowledge, skills and experience in a different clinical teams and areas of dietetics. We have rotational Band 5 posts in our Acute Adult Team, Older People’s Team, Diabetes and Weight Management Team and Nutritional Support Team.
We are looking for 2 Band 5 dietitians with good clinical, organisational, communication and team working skills to join the NHS Fife Nutrition and Dietetic Service.
The dietitians work closely and collaboratively with dietetic colleagues within the Nutrition and Dietetic Service, consultants, GP’s, nursing staff, AHP’s and the wider MDT Teams.
The Band 5 posts tend to rotate on a 9 12 monthly basis. Your knowledge, skills and experience and current service demands will determine which Team the posts will initially start in.
Nutrition & Dietetics Service
This is a Fife wide service, with a leadership structure arranged around clinical teams. These are Acute, Diabetes and Weight Management, Mental Health & Learning Disabilities, Nutritional Support, Older People, Infant Nutrition, CYP and Paediatrics. We work collaboratively with the dietitians and nutritionists in the Health Promotion Food & Health Teams. Fife has a non prescribing ordering model (NPO) for oral nutritional supplements. We deliver a range of services using dietetic led models of care.
We provide dietetic student training for A, B & C placements. All staff participate in the delivery and organisation of the placements. Staff within the Service are encouraged to participate in the service wide, fortnightly education and training sessions delivered on Teams by a range of internal and external speakers. The Service actively supports staff in their continuing professional development. We have very good administration and IT support and utilise social media and online digital resources.
We have an established network for our Band 5 dietitians that deliver opportunities for networking, peer support, development of knowledge and skills and learning.
Registered with HCPC, you will have the skills, competencies and experience appropriate for the posts. Induction and training will be provided to facilitate transition into your new role.

A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment.
NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
