Role Overview

The job holder will be responsible for the completion of shipping documentation to ensure a smooth and efficient distribution of goods our customers. The job holder will be customer focused with the ability to ensure customer satisfaction at all times.

Key Responsibilities

Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Raising despatch notes/invoices for UK & standard consignments using computer and manual based systems.
  • Liaise with freight forwarders to arrange collections/deliveries.
  • Entering collection information onto invoices.
  • Ensure all Air Waybills, manifests & collection notes are received and correctly stored/filed.
  • Ensure smooth flow of shipment information between IMI Thompson Valves and customer including timely response to all e-mails.
  • Provide administrative support to despatch team.
  • Liaising with internal departments to ensure orders are progressed and despatch dates are achieved.
  • Loading of goods using electric pallet stacker.
  • Perform other such duties commensurate with the nature and level of the post as may be reasonably required.

Critical Competencies for Success

  • 4 GCSEs (grade 5 or above) in English and Mathematics or equivalent qualification or experience.
  • PC Literate in PowerPoint, Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Strong team player.
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritise.
