The Role
This role supports cooking instruction verification, sample collection and dispatch, and kitchen operations across Grimsby sites. Responsibilities include preparing samples for trials and lab analysis, assisting with shelf life testing, sourcing ingredients, supporting product reviews, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and providing general support for brand development activities.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for cooking instruction verification for Branded and Retailer Branded products, following required protocols
- Collecting samples and ingredients from all Grimsby sites.
- To correctly package and dispatch samples on behalf of the NPD team, arranging for timely delivery at the correct temperature
- Support trials and bench sample preparation where required and under direction from the key line manager
- Cooking of nutritional samples and submitting to lab for analysis, collating results and distributing as required
- Collection & cooking of shelf life trials, & present to relevant project team member for final organoleptic assessment
- Shopping for marketplace products & ingredients
- To provide full kitchen support at all internal and external activities relating to the Sofina Brand and all Retail Brand development (e.g. cooking products for review)
- Preparation of meeting rooms for sampling, providing refreshments as required
- Under supervision arrange & collate product reviews for competitor products as required
- Cleaning of kitchens and equipment where required
- Other general duties as required by line manager.
- Ideally a food qualification or experience
- General food industry experience beneficial, e.g. Commercial Kitchen experience, Quality Control, Process Operative
- Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to build relationships at all levels
- Ability to problem solve
- Commercially aware
- Ability to interpret and evaluate numerical data
- Proactive approach, ability to forward think, with good project and time management skills
- Full driving licence
