What's the role?
The Contracts Engineer shall be responsible for managing projects and all associated commercial obligations. You will have overall responsibility for:
- The daily management of allocated projects through the project lifecycle to ensure that programme, technical and commercial milestones are met
- Ensuring that contractual commitments are fully understood, communicated and adhered to.
- The management of risks and issues to ensure that measures are taken to correct them when they occur.
- The profitable management of projects
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the delivery or shipment of equipment from BRUSH Switchgear to the sites through liaison with the customer and by raising all appropriate documentation, as required.
- Liaise with the site services team, customer and external transport company, as necessary, to arrange site survey visits and site installation works. Ensure that associated reports and site acceptance documentation is sent to the customer and any associated actions are progressed.
- Manage letters of credit and export documentation, as required, to ensure business export compliance
- Manage invoice requirements of contracts including where stage payments are contractually agreed or where payment is required prior to product shipment
- Monitor product in storage to ensure storage charges are processed in line with contractual agreement.
- Identify, process, submit and negotiate Contract variations for customer changes identified prior to contract completion
- Responsible for order book management to ensure that sales order line promise and required dates are maintained and are in line with contractual or business commitments.
- Responsible for ensuring that sales order lines are invoiced in line with contractual commitments.
- Raise and/or update and action a Quality Event Document where required – action will be related to order fulfilment.
- Liaise with Key Account Managers and Business Development Managers to provide project progress reports and in support of periodic customer contract reviews in whatever formats may be prescribed.
- Maintain effective systems to monitor multiple product supply under Utility Framework Agreements
- Previous experience of Contract/Project management
- An Electrical background with ONC/HNC/BTEC qualifications (advantageous)
- Good computer Skills (Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel and Word), Power Apps & SharePoint
- Electrical Awareness (training can be provided)
- Strong customer relationship builder (internal and external)
- The role requires self-motivated individuals who possess and can display a confident, mature, responsible and flexible approach towards delivering and improving work objectives.
- Good communication skills (written & oral).
- Good time management skills with ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
- Demonstrable results of problem solving.
- Influencing and negotiation skills
- A sound working knowledge and understanding of MV switchgear is desirable although appropriate training will be provided.
