Looking for a Consultant Psychologist role where you can really help shape the service from the start?
Low Secure Mental Health
Full Time: 37.5 hours a week (flexible)
This role will be suitable for an established Consultant Clinical / Forensic Psychologist or a Principal Psychologist who is looking for that next step up.
You will join a team of over 20 Consultant Psychologists, and 50 registered Psychologists based across our 3 sites (Northampton, Birmingham and Essex) and our Community Services. As such, there will be lots of support but also great opportunities for people to progress in their future too.
Take on a new leadership challenge at the forefront of Mental Health Care
We are a mental health Charity and our purpose is to inspire hope for those living with complex mental health needs.
We are looking to a future with less stigma, more community support, more research and education, and we aim to be at the forefront of inspiring real change. We want to ensure we can all live in a society where everyone with complex mental health needs is heard, valued and has hope for their future.
Come and join us and support us to help people transform their lives.
Our patients and your colleagues will expect you to live the St Andrew's CARE values of Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence every single day
The Role & Person
We are currently seeking an HCPC registered Consultant Clinical or Forensic Psychologist to join our newly commissioned Mens Low Secure ward in the Specialist Recovery Division and play a key senior role in managing, shaping and developing the service. The role will work alongside an already established low secure service in the division too.
The successful candidate will contribute to professional initiatives across different aspects of the organisation and play a significant part in developing quality of life and service user involvement strategies. Interests in risk management and assessment and in developing skills by working on complex cases including severe mental illness, sexual offending and substance misuse are all particularly relevant.
You will be joining an expert multi-disciplinary staff group and work with a team of psychologists who are focussed on delivering a range of psychological interventions for a diverse patient group.
This is a post for an enthusiastic and experienced Psychologist with demonstrated leadership abilities and experience of working clinically with service users who have challenging behaviour and complex mental health problems within inpatient/secure settings.
We would consider someone with a minimum of 6 years relevant post qualification experience. There will be good opportunities to develop a special interest and conduct applied research relevant to the field. Continuing professional development opportunities are actively encouraged and supported.
We Offer An Excellent Benefits Package Including
Pension; Sickness policy on par with the NHS; Access to the Blue Light Card and Health Service Discounts schemes; 30 days annual leave (plus bank holidays) with annual scheme to buy or sell up to 5 days leave; Life cover; Electric Car lease scheme; Cycle to work scheme; Healthcare cash plan; Free parking; Paid DBS application; Access to further qualifications including a Masters Programme as well as other leadership qualifications.
