The Opportunity/Role

Responsibilities

Reporting to our Manufacturing Manager this position if ersponsible for effectively utilising compounding (materials re-processing) equipment in accordance with all Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) to meet operational quality and delivery targets. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain good Health, Safety and Environmental standards
  • Complete daily machinery and MHE safety checks
  • Operate various re-processing equipment (granulators, shredders etc.) and MHE to achieve quality & delivery targets
  • Monitor and record dept. output through paper-based or digital systems
  • Achieve and maintain internal housekeeping standards (5S)
  • Inform local supervision of any equipment and/or product quality related issues
  • Troubleshoot and carry out basic, first level maintenance tasks
  • Assist Maintenance Engineering activities within the department
  • Identify potential improvements to processes and engage key stakeholders (Shift Manager, Production Support Lead, Manufacturing Manager)
  • Operate within company policies and procedures (H&S, Quality, HR etc.)
  • Demonstrate flexibility to meet customer demand, cover meal breaks where required etc.

Shift & Pay

Monday - Friday 2:30pm - 10:30pm

£33,303.56 per annum (inc shift premium)

Attendance bonus: £300 per quarter (subject to 100% attendance)

Requirements

  • Awareness of basic Health & Safety principles
  • Engaged and alert to protect self and others through a safe working environment
  • Basic technical understanding gained from working in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work effectively and build relationships in a team environment
  • Ability to challenge the status quo, identify and implement process improvements
