Are you passionate about community engagement and building strong business relationships? We are looking for someone dynamic and dedicated to managing and developing the My Bay resident scheme. If you love creating partnerships and delivering innovative solutions, this role is for you!
We are a Council that works with our residents, communities and partnerships, a Council that listens, supports and empowers. There has never been a better time to work for Torbay Council. We have a real momentum building and have a shared sense of ambition.
What is My Bay? A new community initiative administered by the Council and designed to help residents save money while supporting the local economy. The scheme is open for anyone aged 16 or above with their main home in Torbay.
Residents who join the scheme gets exclusive access to deals with local businesses, free access to public toilets and additional free parking. By encouraging residents to shop locally, My Bay aims to strengthen the community and boost the local economy. For more details on the scheme, visit: My Bay - Torbay Council.
What you'll do: You will manage the My Bay scheme, making sure it delivers value to residents and supports local businesses including the facilitation of its future development and delivery. This is a chance to make a real impact in the community by enhancing the My Bay scheme, working with a diverse range of stakeholders, including elected members, local businesses, and residents.
This role will bring you to the heart of our organisation, working directly with our Divisional Director of Economy, Environment, and Infrastructure. Everyone who works here has the same thing in common, to see Torbay and its residents thrive.
This position is for a fixed term of 24 months from the start date.

- The ability to work on own initiative and prioritising workload with effective time management skills to enable productivity.
- Effective communication skills plus negotiation, persuasion and influencing skills.
- The ability to develop and deliver creative solutions and fresh thinking to issues and service needs.
Knowledge
Essential:
- Astute business acumen to grow external business relationships.
- Knowledge of marketing strategies and customer service principles.
- Knowledge of budget management and financial planning.
Essential:
- Experience of handling people and situations with composure and professionalism.
- Experience in managing community projects or customer-focused schemes.
- Experience of sales and marketing, dealing face to face with people, building and maintaining professional relationships and working in a customer focused environment.
- Educated to A Level standard or equivalent or demonstrable work-related experience.
