About The Role
The Category Manager (CM) is responsible for the day-to-day leadership of the Garment Care category, driving the development and flawless execution of the Go-To-Market strategy in line with both local business priorities and the overarching marketing vision. Acting as the category owner, the CM collaborates closely with the UKI and North District team to ensure full strategic alignment and executional excellence across all channels.
Working in partnership with the Trade Marketing Manager, Account Managers and Sales Director, the CM plays a pivotal role in cross-functional collaboration—particularly in areas such as marketing enablers, commercial metrics, supply chain coordination and client engagement.
This role holds full responsibility for the category’s P&L, locally relevant communication and activation planning, portfolio management and pricing strategy. From ensuring products are market-ready to shaping compelling, consumer-first strategies, the CM operates at the intersection of Demand Planning, Digital Marketing, Sales, and Operations—making this a truly dynamic, end-to-end commercial role.

Working in partnership with the Trade Marketing Manager, Account Managers and Sales Director, the CM plays a pivotal role in cross-functional collaboration—particularly in areas such as marketing enablers, commercial metrics, supply chain coordination and client engagement.
This role holds full responsibility for the category’s P&L, locally relevant communication and activation planning, portfolio management and pricing strategy. From ensuring products are market-ready to shaping compelling, consumer-first strategies, the CM operates at the intersection of Demand Planning, Digital Marketing, Sales, and Operations—making this a truly dynamic, end-to-end commercial role.
The Impact You’ll Make
- Develop, define and implement the category marketing strategy and activity plans including strategic planning, P&Ls, NPIs and roadmaps
- Develop 360° activity plans in cooperation with Sales and Trade Marketing
- Prepare and execute campaigns that are relevant in terms of assets, media strategy, messaging and are pre-checked for go live
- Maintain and develop fundamentals for all respective products and manage related portfolio from both strategic and operational point of view
- Analytical processes for performance tracking (sales, GfK market data), portfolio management (portfolio database, planning and competitor analysis)
- Handle & track revenue target budget and Gross Margin (IGM)
- Participate in Commercial meetings with the UK/I team, reporting, supporting other functions within Versuni
- Contribute to the definition of the strategy and goals of the commercial unit, so that all business processes can be optimized and aligned to maximize the performance
- University degree, preferably in marketing or business field
- At least 5 years of experience working in in-house Marketing gained ideally in the consumer goods industry as Category or Brand manager
- Proven track of full responsibility of category management
- Experience in working with PR, influencer agencies
- Consumer focused mindset – skilled at campaign development and management
- Solid project & budget management skills
- Trade marketing experience is an advantage
- Strong analytical approach – to name it strong in Excel, PowerPoint, database management and strategic analysis
- Owners’ mindset
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent command of English both verbal and written
