We are looking for a Candidate Program Manager who is driven, collaborative, and detail-oriented to join us in our Candidate Program Management Team, based in our office in Slough, United Kingdom.

About The Role

As a Candidate Program Manager (CPgM), your purpose will be to drive the defined outcomes to achieve the maximum potential of a candidate for the benefit of patients, stakeholders and UCB. A CPgM you would be responsible for managing multiple candidate program(s), between late research phase and Proof of Concept study results.

CPgM’s manage their assigned candidate programs end-to-end and ensure it links into the overall UCB portfolio. Accountabilities include overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of the specific project(s), ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meets the set objectives, including management of Project Coordinator support. The CPgM is expected to anticipate risks ahead, build scenarios for decisions, manage issues are they arise and share knowledge within and beyond the Candidate Team.

Who You’ll Work With

You will report to the Candidate Program Management Team Lead, work closely with Candidate Lead, and various cross-functional teams, including Regulatory Affairs, Clinical, Safety, Medical Affairs, Marketing, Manufacturing, and Access. You will be part of a dynamic and diverse global team.

What You’ll Do

  • Translate operational roadmaps into detailed project plans with clear scope, schedule, and costs.
  • Manage project timelines and resources, ensuring seamless execution of deliverables.
  • Proactively manage risks and resolve issues, providing clear performance insights.
  • Maintain project oversight, serving as the single source of truth for project status.
  • Foster positive team dynamics and knowledge sharing through expert facilitation and communication.
  • Implement best practices in project management, including Agile and Scrum methodologies.

Interested? For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience, and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree: Project Management certification required (e.g., PMP, Prince2, Agile).
  • Minimum 5 years of Project Management experience, in Pharmaceutical R&D, biotech, Medical, commercial.
  • Proven experience of working with global, multi-cultural, diverse teams, with demanding timelines and complex deliverables.
  • Strong skills in critical thinking, planning, scheduling, and resource management.
  • Expertise in risk, issue, and performance management within a biopharma setting.
  • Excellent communication, change, and conflict management abilities.
  • Experience in driving change and adoption of new ways of working.
