A vacancy has arisen within our Earth Moving department for a Business Development Manager - Wheeled Excavators, Dump Trucks & Rail.
The role contributes to the success of Liebherr-Great Britain Ltd by focusing on the strategic sales development of Wheeled Excavators, Dump Trucks & Rail Machines across all industry sectors (i.e., aggregates, waste & rail) in the UK market. A strong technical acumen is required to ensure the USP’s of Liebherr Machines are communicated effectively to customers and to support the UK sales team to ensure Wheeled Excavators, Dump Trucks & Rail market share is achieved in line with annual sales forecasts whilst working within the Company’s key result areas;
Business Performance, Customer Focus, People and Teamwork, Leadership.

Your Responsibilities As a Business Development Manager
  • Developing and executing an annual sales strategy to grow Wheeled Excavators, Dump Trucks & Rail Machine sales in the UK market.
  • Developing relationships with UK national accounts and be the key contact for sales within these organisations.
  • Being the key contact for Wheeled Excavator, Dump Truck & Rail Factories to ensure all technical / sales information is communicated to the team.
  • Generating sales leads under own initiative to achieve short-, medium- and long-term sales growth through networking, referrals, and prospecting, working together with the Area Sales Managers.
  • Offering technical support to the UK sales team.
  • Liaising between after sales/accounts and national account customers in respect of any outstanding issues that cannot be resolved at a local level.
  • Providing / arranging training program for LGB sales team to ensure technical competency is met.
  • Preparing and follow up quotations and tenders.
  • Supervising demonstrations (together with local Area Sales Manager as required) at selected national account sites to facilitate the closing of new business.
  • Working closely with the sales office organisation and other departments to maximise productivity and reduce costs.
  • Attending exhibitions as required.

To be considered for the Business Development Manager role, you need to:-
  • Able to demonstrate a passion for sales coupled with excellent results.
  • Good communicator at all levels with a flexible approach to work.
  • Being prepared to do extensive travel both in the UK and overseas as required.
