A vacancy has arisen within our Maritime department in Aberdeen for a Business Development Manager – MCC Offshore. The role contributes to the success of Liebherr – Great Britain Ltd, focusing on the strategic development of the Offshore Customer Service business in the UK market. A strong technical acumen is required to ensure the benefits of the Liebherr portfolio of services are effectively communicated to our customers. This role will also support the UK Customer Service team to ensure our Offshore Oil and Gas business is in line with annual forecasts and growth plans. To ensure company goals are met in Business Performance, Customer Focus, People and Teamwork, Leadership.

Your Responsibilities As a Business Development Manager

  • Conduct thorough research on the Offshore and gas industry, identifying trends, competitors, and potential opportunities.
  • To advise management of any changes in competitor or market activity
  • Liaise between Customer Service/accounts and customers in respect of any outstanding issues that cannot be resolved at a local level.
  • Support in the preparation of quotations and tenders
  • Generate leads under own initiative to achieve short-, medium- and long-term Customer Service growth through networking, referrals, and prospecting, working together with the Customer Service and Sales Team.
  • To promote Liebherr products proactively in the UK market and ensure they receive equal attention from the UK Customer Service team.
  • Support in the development and execution of the Customer Service strategy to grow Service & Spare Parts sales in the UK offshore market.
  • Develop and execute business strategies to expand market presence and increase revenue.
  • Identify new business prospects, partnerships, and investment opportunities.
  • Create a roadmap for growth, considering both short-term and long-term goals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, understanding their needs and ensuring satisfaction.
  • Prospect and engage with potential clients, presenting the company’s services and solutions.
  • Actively supports with the negotiation of contracts, pricing, and terms.
  • Drive sales efforts by promoting products, services, and solutions.
  • Identify offshore projects, exploration opportunities, and gas-related ventures.
  • Coordinate with technical teams for project feasibility assessments.
  • Attend conferences, trade shows, and industry events to network with key stakeholders.
  • Represent the company and stay updated on industry developments.
  • Evaluate risks associated with business decisions and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Prepare regular reports on business development activities, progress, and challenges.
  • To keep the Liebherr CRM database system updated with all meaningful activities following up on quotations and any communications.

  • Proven track record in the oil and gas industry.
  • Able to demonstrate a passion for sales coupled with excellent results.
  • Be able to travel UK & Ireland as required to support business requirements.
  • Keep up to date on technical skills and knowledge
  • Good communicator at all levels
