What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll lead everything from modernising our data infrastructure to sharpening how we report and use analytics day to day. Here’s a snapshot of what the job involves:
Cloud & Infrastructure
Take charge of moving our data systems to the cloud – think secure, scalable, and future-ready.
Manage cloud-based data platforms and pipelines.
Make sure everything works like it should by leading testing and decommissioning old systems once the new ones are live.
Data Governance & Quality
Build clear rules and standards so that everyone across the business uses data in the same way.
Set up tools to keep data clean, reliable, and secure.
Stay on top of compliance and keep sensitive data well protected.
Reporting & Insights
Develop reporting tools that give teams the numbers they need, when they need them.
Use Power BI, SQL, Python, and DAX to dig into data and find what matters.
Create dashboards and models that help forecast, plan, and improve performance across the business.
Leadership & Collaboration
Be the go-to person for anything data-related.
Train And Mentor Others To Improve Data Literacy Company-wide.
Work closely with teams across the business to make sure data meets real-world needs.
Keep an eye out for new tech and trends that can keep us ahead of the game.
Security & Data Collection
Make sure our data collection is accurate and consistent across all systems.
Handle and share data securely – no shortcuts.
Keep detailed audit trails and clear protocols for anything sensitive.
What You’ll Need To Bring
The Right Skills
Expert in Power BI, SQL, Python, and DAX.
Great with data modelling, stats, and visualisation.
Strong background in working with cloud platforms, especially Azure.
Experience That Counts
You’ve led complex data projects before – ideally moving from on-site systems to the cloud.
You’ve got a track record of turning raw data into decisions that matter.
You’ve set up data governance and know how to keep things compliant.
Soft Skills Matter Too
You can explain tricky technical things in a way that makes sense to anyone.
You’re organised, good under pressure, and keep things moving.
You’re a natural mentor and enjoy helping others grow in their skills.
