Job Summary
We are looking for a HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist (BMS) who has expertise in, and a passion for histopathology.
The Biomedical Scientist will play an important role within the histology laboratory. The role holder will report to a Senior Biomedical Scientist. The BMS will participate in all aspects of providing a histopathology service including specialist analytical testing on a range of biological samples. The role holder will be responsible for processing patient samples in good time and will ensure that service standards for reporting results are achieved. The BMS will be expected to prioritise their own workload and work with the MLAs in their team to meet the service delivery standards of the laboratory. They will perform urgent analytical testing as required. The role holder will be expected to maintain the highest standards of laboratory practice in line with HCPC and ISO 15189 policies.
Working Pattern and Location
The role is a full-time position with a standard 37.5 hour working week. The role holder may be required to work flexibly.
The Biomedical Scientist will be based at 2 Falcon Road, Hinchingbrooke Business Park, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom, PE29 6FG.
What You Will Be Doing
Cyted is on a mission to build a world where disease is prevented rather than treated. We focus on providing innovative diagnostic technologies to drive the earlier detection of disease in the gastrointestinal tract, first focused on oesophageal cancer (and its precursor Barrett’s oesophagus) with a non-endoscopic, minimally-invasive test.
Headquartered in Cambridge UK, we lead the way in groundbreaking diagnostic technology, enhancing patient care for those at risk of early and advanced disease. We are on the lookout for talented individuals eager to make a meaningful impact. We strongly encourage applications from underrepresented groups and those with unconventional educational or career backgrounds.
Our core product is the minimally invasive EndoSign test. The test is a combination of a simple device coupled with laboratory biomarkers to detect oesophageal cancer and its precursor Barrett’s oesophagus. Click here to find out more.
We offer a dynamic work environment for career growth and skill diversification. Alongside your core role you can gain experience on projects throughout the company, and contribute your opinions and ideas. Our commitment to inclusion and diversity drives us to embrace varied perspectives, promoting diagnostic excellence, user-friendly software, and superior patient outcomes.
We interview on a rolling basis, starting with a brief call to discuss what we’re doing and whether it resonated with you.
