About The Role
Have you experience of working with young people with Autism and SEMH?
As a Specialist Tutor you will work collaboratively with a team to support students with Autism, SEMH and wider needs to develop and implement strategies and systems to assess their needs to adopt success.
Are you able to think differently in how you support young people?
You’ll be key in supporting and creatively teaching young people in small groups and on a 1-1 basis.
We’re confident that at the end of your working day, you’ll have overcome challenges and made a genuine difference, leaving a lasting impression.
Hours per week: 30
Annual leave: 42 days + bank holidays (pro rata 252 hours + bank holidays)
Salary per year: £29,278 up to 32,075

Please note that there are two salary scale points for our Lecturer positions. All candidates will start at the introductory salary scale point unless certain criteria are met. Lecturers will normally move up to the highest salary scale once one full academic year of teaching for our group is complete. (Lecturers must be in post by 1st September in any given year to qualify and this is subject to approval). Therefore, internal applicants in the same role may qualify for the higher salary scale, although should seek clarification

What are we looking for?
- Minimum of two years’ experience of teaching students with Autism and/or SEMH.
- Qualified teacher (DET, PGCE or Certificate in Education)
- Degree level qualification related to specialist area.
- Experience of a range of conditions that impact learning - SEND & SEMH.
- Safeguarding knowledge and understanding.
