The Department
Company Commercial (COCO) Our specialist team of commercial law solicitors provide advice on: Commercial contracts, joint ventures & collaborations, agency, distribution & franchising, supply chain & logistics, outsourcing contracts, and IT contracts
The Role
To provide a quality, tailored and supportive legal service to a range of clients.
Proactively manage a complex portfolio of clients and anticipate their specific needs. Use specialist skills to enhance the client experience in the Corporate Team.
Supports head of department and partners with their clients work and with management responsibilities.
Corporate and Commercial Services
Specifically in the area of corporate and commercial law services, advice and support might include:
- Advising clients in varied aspects of corporate and partnership law, including:
- Business and share acquisitions and disposals;
- Management buy-outs;
- Share re-organisations, issues, buy-backs and transfers;
- Advice to company directors;
- Corporate governance;
- Joint ventures and shareholder arrangements etc.
- Advice on partnerships and limited liability partnerships
- Advising clients in various commercial contract arrangements including:
- Supply of goods and services;
- Distribution, outsourcing, fundraising;
- Ecommerce;
- Agency
- Franchise agreements
- Intellectual property matters
- To ensure the profitability of the firm is maintained through regular billing and the development of client relationships.
- Drafting documentation using precedents and creating precedents where none exist etc.
- Negotiating transaction documents whilst applying a high level of inter-personal skill with client as well as specialised knowledge and judgement.
- Assisting the team in development of commercial law products, including e-products via the firm’s website.
- Attending and speaking at the firm’s marketing events and seminars.
- Assisting with the development and delivery of training events and other marketing initiatives.
- Keeping up to date with developments in Corporate and Commercial Law.
