The Role


Are you looking to advance your career in accounting? As an Outsourcing Associate, you will play a key role in delivering exemplary client service by preparing management accounts and VAT returns for a diverse portfolio of clients.


You will manage approximately 20-30 small to medium-sized clients, including sole traders, partnerships, charities, and limited companies, on a weekly, monthly, or quarterly basis. Additionally, you will review the work of junior team members and assist in raising draft invoices for director/partner approval. This role offers a blend of client interaction and technical accounting work, providing a great opportunity to develop your skills and career.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare management accounts and VAT returns for a portfolio of clients.
  • Ensure exemplary client service is delivered at all times.
  • Review input from junior team members and raise draft invoices for approval.
  • Proactively manage client relationships and address their needs.
  • Work efficiently to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.


Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience


  • Level 4 AAT qualified and/or already studying towards your ACCA qualification (part-qualified)
  • Experience in preparing VAT returns and management accounts in a practice environment.
  • Proficient in using accounts production packages (e.g., Xero, Sage 50 Accounts, QuickBooks) and Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and manage client relationships.
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.

  • Our standard working week is a 37.5-hour week on a hybrid basis
  • Core working hours are 10am - 4pm Monday to Friday
