Assistant/Associate Professor in Operations and Technology Management
Cambridge Service Alliance
Date: 2 weeks ago
City: Cambridge
Contract type: Full time
The Operations and Technology Management (OTM) group of Cambridge Judge Business School (CJBS) seeks to fill a position at the rank of either an Assistant Professor (preferably with experience) or an Associate Professor.
The Cambridge Judge Business School is a highly ranked business school, located at the heart of an 800-year-old University and within one of the most active entrepreneurship clusters in Europe. The OTM group at CJBS is collegial and ambitious. The OTM group has a reputation for management research that is rigorous, original and consequential, as evidenced by a strong publication record, high profile media coverage, the placements of its PhD program, and the senior editorial roles of its members.
The group continuously seeks to increase its global visibility and impact through recognised research excellence, as well as by placing its PhD graduates in academic positions in leading schools. We are very supportive of research with real-world impact and are particularly welcoming of candidates unafraid to tackle topics in organisations and society more widely. The members of the group are actively pursuing research topics that inform their teaching, and, in turn, our research priorities often reflect problems and perspectives identified through executive teaching.
Depending on their level of seniority, the ideal candidates will provide evidence of a record of impactful research, either through a strong working paper pipeline, with papers in advanced stages of the publication process, or by publications that showcase outstanding research productivity and excellence. Research on artificial intelligence, machine learning and business analytics would appeal to the group's current research and teaching engagements and aspirations. Other indicative topics of interest include (but are not limited to) healthcare operations, innovation, product development & entrepreneurship, and project management. As CJBS is predominantly a graduate business school, candidates will be expected to offer evidence of excellent teaching experience on degree programs (e.g., MBA; Executive MBA) and the ambition, if not the experience, to engage in Executive Education, where the OTM group contributes a lot of teaching.
Application Requirements
We particularly welcome applications from female candidates and/or individuals from a BAME (Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic) background for this vacancy. Currently, these groups are underrepresented at this level within our department.
