Building Services Technician (Part Time)

Applications are open for a permanent part time (0.6FTE) Building Service Technician role based in the Jeffrey Cheah Biomedical Centre (JCBC) - a state-of-the-art research building located on the Biomedical Campus which opened in 2019 and houses up to 900 staff in three separate research Institutes.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Building Services Team, supporting the efficient and effective functioning of the JCBC and the research groups based here. This is a dynamic role and it is expected that the post holder will work on a rotational basis to manage key tasks, in addition to any ad hoc duties as they arise.
Responsibilities
We are looking for motivated individuals with a can-do approach who is keen to meet the varied workload. Key duties and responsibilities include:

- distribution and collection of parcels and incoming mail
- collection of hazardous waste from labs and collection points
- assisting in cleaning and distribution of glassware
- assisting in media preparation and autoclaving
- filling liquid nitrogen vessels and changing gas cylinders
- water safety maintenance duties
- assisting the senior Building Service Technicians with minor maintenance tasks
- assisting with fire testing procedures
- providing furniture and managing room layouts for events.
The post is permanent and available for 20hrs per week.
