About Our Opportunity

EMR is a global leader in sustainable materials recycling, committed to innovation, safety, and operational excellence. We are seeking a proactive and experienced Assistant Transport Manager to support our transport operations and help drive efficiency across our logistics network.

What You Will Be Doing

As Assistant Transport Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our transport services. You'll support the Regional Transport Manager in overseeing daily logistics, managing driver teams, optimising routes, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills and a passion for operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing and monitoring transport operations to maximise efficiency and service quality.
  • Oversee daily tasks such as route planning, driver supervision, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and statutory transport regulations, including health and safety standards.
  • Support recruitment, training, and performance management of transport staff.
  • Liaise effectively with internal departments and external partners to ensure seamless operations.
  • Monitor budgets and control expenses to meet financial targets.
  • Maintain accurate records and produce regular reports on transport performance.

About You

  • Experience:Proven experience in transport management, including team leadership and multi-site operations.
  • Qualifications:Hold a valid Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) – national or international.
  • Skills:Strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a methodical approach to tasks.
  • Knowledge:Good geographic knowledge of the operating area.
  • Flexibility:Willingness to travel and work extended hours as necessary.
