Role: Assistant Service Manager
Location: Carmarthen
Hours: 37
What You Will Be Doing
- Working alongside the Service manager to ensure a safe service for the people we support and our colleagues
- To support the Service manager to ensure the service is compliant in line with legislation, Cartrefi’s policies and procedures and to ensure quality standards.
- To provide leadership and management to the team, monitoring performance and engage with supervisions, appraisals and team meetings.
- To develop, promote and ensure the effective delivery of person centred, outcomes-focussed support to service users.
- To Respect, Safeguard and Enable each person as an individual with the right to expect autonomy, choice and privacy.
- To manage the service in the absence of the Service Manager and report to the Area manager/on call manager where appropriate.
- Undertake support duties in line with the needs of the people we support. Working shifts as directed by the rota including sleep ins and waking nights as required.
- Commit to own personal development, attending training when required and seeking development opportunities
- Great communication
- Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities in a social care setting
- QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care
- To be passionate about supporting people to live an enriched life and fulfil their potential
- Knowledge and understanding of the principles of confidentiality and privacy
- A good understanding of health and safety legislation and management in a social care setting
- A working knowledge and understanding of the Care Council for Wales Code of Practice
- Excellent IT skills
- Flexibility to work shifts and provide cover as required
- A full clean driving license and willingness to travel for meetings and training.
