Role: Assistant Service Manager

Location: Torfaen

Hours: 37 Hours

What You Will Be Doing

• Working alongside the Service manager to ensure a safe service for the people we support and our colleagues
• To support the Service manager to ensure the service is compliant in line with legislation, Cartrefi’s policies and procedures and to ensure quality standards.
• To provide leadership and management to the team, monitoring performance and engage with supervisions, appraisals and team meetings.
• To develop, promote and ensure the effective delivery of person centred, outcomes-focussed support to service users.
• To Respect, Safeguard and Enable each person as an individual with the right to expect autonomy, choice and privacy.
• To manage the service in the absence of the Service Manager and report to the Area manager/on call manager where appropriate.
• Undertake support duties in line with the needs of the people we support. Working shifts as directed by the rota including sleep ins and waking nights as required.
• Commit to own personal development, attending training when required and seeking development opportunities
  
  

What You Will Need

• Great communication
• Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities in a social care setting
• QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care
• To be passionate about supporting people to live an enriched life and fulfil their potential
• Knowledge and understanding of the principles of confidentiality and privacy
• A good understanding of health and safety legislation and management in a social care setting
• A working knowledge and understanding of the Care Council for Wales Code of Practice
• Excellent IT skills
• Flexibility to work shifts and provide cover as required
• A full clean driving license and willingness to travel for meetings and training.
