Working in the commercial department and reporting to the Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial team in delivering high-quality surveying and cost management services.
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for assisting the Senior Commercial Staff in all aspects of Quantity Surveying, ensuring compliance with company procedures as outlined in the Business Manual and site quality plan.

Location: Customer Solution Centre, Durrington, (Worthing, West Sussex)
Job Type: permanent, full-time
Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours (start times to be discussed on interview)
Salary: Competitive, depending upon experience

About The Role
Due to continued growth and development, we are now looking for customer focused people to join us in our Utility Division, working on our Southern Water contract service to deliver real and effective solutions to commercial and finance issues.
What is essential is the ability to work accurately to diagnose and deliver practical and efficient solutions to attain the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
About You
The ideal candidate will be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and have the ability to organise, multitask and prioritise your workload. Good communication and interpersonal, relationship-building and networking skills are key. Studying towards (or just completed) a relevant industry qualification (e.g. HND, HNC, BEng) or Business Related Degree (i.e. Finance and Accountancy) is crucial to this role.

About The Role

- Attend and take an active part in site progress meetings
- Keeping a record of Sub-contract documents/drawings, updating the procurement schedule as and when required
- Keep a record of material wastage & contra charge subcontractors as necessary
- Assisting with Client Valuations
- Maximise income / profitability
- Ensure Applications for Payment are submitted promptly and accurately
- Be aware of all Lanes Group policies and your responsibilities towards them
- Any other reasonable ad-hoc duties, tasks or projects as requested by the Quantity Surveyor, Senior Commercial Manager or Senior Leadership Team
