As an Assistant Head Housekeeper you will be responsible for;
- Creating an environment where your team aspire to achieve the highest of standards of cleanliness. Encourage and motivate the housekeeping team on a daily basis to complete all tasks to an exceptional quality.
- Supporting your teams with training and development, this is largely e-learning
- Deputise for the Head of Housekeeping and ensure the department functions effectively in their absence, attending meetings in their place when required.
- To allocating daily housekeeping duties amongst the team to ensure the maintenance of all guest accommodation and public areas to the highest possible standard of cleanliness and presentation.
- Managing and taking responsibility for an efficient and effective laundry operation within the resort. Ensuring guest laundry is satisfactorily actioned and take responsibility along with the Housekeeping Supervisor for the cleaning of soft furnishings.
- Inspect accommodation (up to 75 rooms per day including stay-overs) and public areas cleaned by Housekeeping staff to ensure that Champneys exacting standards of hygiene and cleanliness are met and maintained at all times.
- Acquire and maintain a thorough and up to date knowledge of the Health Resort including its services, layout, procedures and services.
- Communicate positively and maintain effective working relationships with all staff, colleagues and internal departments and work as a team in order to resolve issues efficiently.
- Along with the Head of Housekeeping, take responsibility for housekeeping staff recruitment, inductions, training, and management, addressing issues as they arise in the moment and escalating issues to the Head of Housekeeping as required, consulting with HR regarding company procedure.
- Retain and keep safe lost property, dealing with this as appropriate and ensuring it is returned to its owner when appropriate.
