Asset Manager – Powerplant
Our client is seeking an Asset Manager to take responsibility for ensuring engine, APU, and nacelle availability to support fleet operations, while delivering key technical and commercial initiatives. This role requires cross-departmental collaboration and engagement with external suppliers.
The successful candidate will combine detailed technical knowledge of aircraft engines with strong commercial acumen and proven experience in driving operational improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop forecasting models to predict engine maintenance requirements, applicable across multiple engine types.
- Manage suppliers to deliver on contractual obligations, maximising commercial advantage.
- Lead technical discussions across internal teams and external suppliers, driving optimal technical and commercial decisions.
- Support delivery of financial plans through effective cost management and negotiations.
- Embed technical standards, policy, and strategic direction into daily Powerplant operations.
- Act as a coordinator across internal stakeholders and suppliers regarding engine, APU, and nacelle deliveries.
- Deliver a portfolio of technical and commercial projects of significant business value.
- Coach and mentor team members, contributing to a high-performance team culture.
- Monitor fleet reliability, develop improvement plans, and ensure performance targets are achieved.
- Lead or technically support investigations in line with corporate safety standards.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Report and communicate operational and business performance to senior stakeholders.

- Detailed technical knowledge of aircraft engines and the regulatory environment.
- Proven ability to combine technical expertise with strong commercial skills.
- Experience negotiating with suppliers to achieve measurable commercial success.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical information.
- Strong influencing skills and collaborative leadership approach.
- Ability to lead projects, manage change initiatives, and deliver process improvements.
- Resilience and professionalism when working under pressure.
- Strong commercial awareness and sound decision-making ability.
Experience & Qualifications
- Must hold (or be able to gain) CAA Part 21, Part M, and Part 145 authorisations.
- HNC/HND/degree in an approved Engineering subject.
- Recognised engineering apprenticeship or equivalent industry experience.
- Demonstrated success in leading technical and commercial projects.
