About The Role

As an Apprentice Vehicle Mechanic, you'll join our experienced workshop team and work on a wide range of hire vehicles. Over a 3-year structured apprenticeship (plus 1 year time-served), you’ will learn the tools of the trade and apply them in a real workshop environment. Alongside hands-on experience, you’ll attend college through our training partner Remit, working towards a Level 3 Modern Apprenticeship Qualification in Motor Vehicle Service & Maintenance (Light Vehicles) and you will be fully supported by experienced mentors every step of the way.

How This Role Supports The Delivery Of Hire Solutions

You'll develop the skills needed to keep our fleet safe, reliable, and ready for hire. Key areas of your training include:

Vehicle Maintenance, Service & Repair

  • Assist with servicing, maintenance, and repair work
  • Replace and test mechanical components
  • Learn to use workshop tools and equipment safely

Technical Skills Development

  • Use diagnostic tools and lifting equipment
  • Understand vehicle manuals and documentation
  • Identify and resolve mechanical and electrical faults

Teamwork & Communication

  • Understand and apply relevant safety legislation

Record-Keeping

  • Maintain accurate service and repair records
  • Complete necessary documentation for work carried out

You will attend scheduled training at our approved centre, complete coursework, assignments, and exams, and take part in additional learning opportunities to steadily progress toward becoming a fully qualified Vehicle Mechanic.

What Will Make You a Great Fit

You don’t need any prior experience — just a genuine interest in vehicles and a willingness to learn. We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • A genuine interest in vehicles and how they work
  • Eagerness to learn and develop practical skills in servicing and maintaining vehicles
  • Commitment to attending college and completing the theoretical side of the apprenticeship
