Analytics Engineer

We're hiring: Analytics Engineer | Chester (Hybrid) | £45K

Join Forge Holiday Group, the team behind Sykes Holiday Cottages, Forest Holidays, UKcaravans4hire and Bachcare (NZ).

We’re looking for a skilled and ambitious Analytics Engineer to help power decision-making across our brands. This is a hands-on, high-impact role in a growing data team, with a flexible hybrid working model (minimum 2 days a week in our Chester HQ).

What you’ll do:

Build clean, tested, and scalable data models that enable smarter decisions

Design impactful dashboards and data products using SQL, Power BI, Tableau, MS Fabric

Own and enhance ETL/ELT pipelines across our modern data stack

Embed data visualization best practices and drive data storytelling

Apply software engineering best practices - CI/CD, version control, testing

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to turn data into actionable insights

Promote data quality and resolve data issues at the source

Help shape squad initiatives that align data work with business strategy

Champion the value of data across the business

What you bring:

Strong SQL skills and experience building robust data pipelines

Hands-on with Power BI or Tableau, and cloud data platforms (e.g. MS Fabric, Snowflake, Databricks, AWS)

Experience with ETL/ELT processes and exposure to Python or similar languages

Comfortable engaging with stakeholders and translating business needs into data solutions

Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Bachelor's degree in a numerate field or equivalent experience

Nice to have:

Experience with Azure Synapse, Data Factory, or managing semantic layers

Exposure to eCommerce or travel & tourism data

Familiarity with agile ways of working and tools like JIRA, Bitbucket, or GitHub

Experience with AWS (Athena, S3), SQL Server, SSIS/SSAS, or data streaming tools like Kafka
