Mechanical Maintenance Technician

Location: IKO Glass Fiber Inc., Chester, SC Department: Maintenance Type: Full Time (FT/PT/Cont)

WHEN YOU JOIN US YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE TO;

  • Inspect, maintain, and service mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment.
  • Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance tasks to identify and address potential problems.
  • Execute mechanical repairs and replacements, ensuring adherence to safety standards and regulations.
  • Install, upgrade, or modify mechanical systems and equipment as needed.
  • Keep comprehensive records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
  • Maintain accurate records of mechanical maintenance tasks, including work orders and equipment manuals.
  • Identify and diagnose mechanical problems using various tools and equipment.
  • Determine the root cause of mechanical malfunctions and develop effective repair solutions.
  • Interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics to locate and rectify issues.
  • Collaborate with engineers and supervisors to implement improvements and enhancements.
  • Strictly adhere to safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures, to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and national mechanical codes and regulations.
  • Other duties as required.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE;

  • High School Diploma or equivalent: technical or vocational training in mechanical maintenance is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal and presentation), with the ability to effectively work with others in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated initiative and the ability to handle complex assignments with a proactive attitude.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Maintenance technician or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, components, and diagrams
  • Proficiency in using mechanical tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to emergency calls when necessary.
