The NHS Long-Term Plan calls for a step change in multiprofessional advanced practice requiring capacity to be built at national, regional and sub-regional level, e.g. in Integrated Care Systems (ICSs) or ‘faculties’ to drive change. NHSE’s National Centre for Advancing Practice has been established to standardise routes into advanced practice, accredit advanced practice programmes and recognise registered health and care practitioners who demonstrate the capabilities set out in the Advanced Practice or consultant practitioner framework and the national educational standards for Advanced Practice. The regional Faculty will drive regional workforce transformation and educational development/delivery to support the appropriate uptake of Advanced Practice.
We are looking for a highly organised and flexible Advanced Practice Education and Training Development Lead, capable of using their own advanced practice skills and expertise to co-ordinate and support successful delivery of the Advanced Practice portfolio at regional and sub-regional level in Mental Health, Learning Disabilities & Autism. This is a multi-professional approach, and the successful post holder must have an appreciation and respect for the different professions alongside a desire to maximise the opportunities for all.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.
Staff recruited from outside the NHS will usually be appointed at the bottom of the pay band.
NHS England hold a Sponsor Licence; this means that we may be able to sponsor you providing the Home Office requirements are met. To be eligible for sponsorship through the Skilled Worker route you’ll usually need to be paid the ‘standard’ salary rate of at least £38,700 per year, or the ‘going rate’ for your job, whichever is higher. - Provide Advanced Practice leadership and programme management expertise at a regional level for Mental Health, Learning Disabilities & Autism
- contribute to proactively managing the key risks and issues associated with the regional delivery plan ensuring appropriate actions are taken to mitigate or respond;
- Work in partnership with the existing regional enabling functions, actively support the Advanced Practice Senior Responsible Officer (SRO), in carrying out duties across the region in relation to the Advanced Practice workforce;
- develop the relationship and engagement strategy to facilitate SW ICSs to recognise the importance of Advanced Practice in service transformation
- contribute to ensuring the Faculty strategy is formulated, understood by all stakeholders, and delivered utilising all available resources efficiently and effectively
- work with workforce planning and business intelligence colleagues engaging with the health and social care system to identify current and future Advanced Practitioner demand and supply
- provide support and advice to ICS members on the development of existing and future AP workforce and delivery of transformation plan outcomes, ensuring that planning assumptions are shared and widely understood
- create and deliver a wide range of reports to demonstrate a sound understanding of both the quality assurance and value for money impact of Advanced Practice in the region
